St. Patrick’s Day is here! Don’t worry though as it’s not too late to plan the ultimate St. Patrick’s Day party. If you follow the five simple steps below you’ll be sure to through a party which your friends will rave about until the next St. Patrick’s Day arrives.
1. Organize a variety of green beverages
If you want to surprise your guests, offer your guests green cocktails as well as beer. If you want to spend more time mixing and mingling with your guests instead of playing bar tender, consider renting a self-serve margarita machine which you can fill with a green margarita mix. To decorate your guests glasses, place a slice of lime on the rim of each glass.
2. Get creative with fun snack ideas
If you’re creative and enjoy baking, consider creating a rainbow and a pot of gold out of cupcakes. Or create a cake in the shape of a lucky four leaf clover. Alternatively, if you don’t have much time to spend preparing snacks, consider renting a Sno-Cone machine and providing green food dye or flavoring for your guests to decorate their Sno-Cones with. However, if you’re throwing together a party at the last minute, no one will judge you if you end up serving your guests small bowls of Lucky Charms.
3. Provide a dress up box
At every party there are always a few guests who forget to dress up, so why not provide your guests with a box of green clothes and accessories which they can raid? If you plan on playing games like beer pong or poker, you could set up the rules so that each time someone misses a cup or loses a hand, they have to reach into the box with their eyes closed and put on a mystery item. By the end of the night your guests will be walking around with green glittery top hats and over sized green sunglasses.
4. Decorate your venue
Don’t worry, you don’t have to spend a small fortune on decorations in order to dress up your venue. One simple, inexpensive way to liven up a room is to rent a helium tank and blow up a few packets of green balloons. The advantage to using helium balloons over regular balloons is that they float higher and your guests won’t be stuck walking around balloons all night!
Alternatively, head to your local craft supplier, purchase a few sheets of green cardboard and some green glitter and have a go at making your own wall decorations. Perhaps try cutting out shamrock or leprechaun shaped decorations. You’re only limited by your imagination. If you’re short on time, have a few of your closest friends turn up an hour before the party to help you,
A party isn’t a party without great music! Before your guests arrive, create a St Patrick’s Day playlist on your iPod or laptop and leave it on shuffle mode. Songs to get you started include “Galway Girl”, “Molly Mallone”,”Fairytales of New York” and “Danny Boy”.
Now that you’ve got a few St. Patrick’s Day party ideas in mind, it’s time to get ready for the party!Tweet
